Companion care consists of nonmedical care, socialization, or general support for adults 18 years of age or older. It is provided in the individual’s home or other places in the community for up to 8 hours daily and is covered in the FIS and CL waivers. This type of care includes assistance with IADLs, community access, reminders for medication self-administration or support to ensure safety.
